Sign Regulation Changes

At their January 15, 2008 meeting the Wethersfield Planning and Zoning Commission approved a series of amendments to Section 6.3 (Sign Regulations) of the Wethersfield Zoning Regulations.

The regulation changes are designed both to clarify existing sections of the regulations and to add language that would permit new signage in both residential and commercial zones. Specifically, the changes affect the following: sponsorship signs on baseball and softball fields, maximum wall sign area in business zones, flashing and animated signs, open signs in business zones, temporary signs for off premise events, signage for historical organizations, seasonal banners on streetlamps, portable signs in business signs and temporary signs for tag sales.

The regulations went into effect on Friday, January 18, 2008 and a detailed copy of the changes are available in the Planning Department at Town Hall and are available online*.
