The Wethersfield Town Council, at their September 15, 2008 meeting, approved a new tax exemption program that begins with the October 1, 2008 Grand List.
On and after January 1, 2008 and prior to July 1, 2010, the purchase of any passenger motor vehicle with an EPA estimated Rating of 40 mpg either city or highway would qualify for a tax exemption. The vehicles that may qualify are: Honda Civic Hybrid, Honda Insight and Toyota Prius.
In Wethersfield a $1,000 tax exemption would be granted for the 2008 and 2009 Grand List. Applications are available in the Assessor's Office or online. Please call the Assessor's Office at (860) 721-2810 for more details.
