DESCRIPTION:Wethersfield is pleased to offer an interactive children and family program designed for ages 3-8 (but all ages are welcome) at the historic Wethersfield Estate and Garden. Each week children\, accompanied by a caregiver (this is not a drop off program)\, will explore a different part of the Wethersfield Estate\, followed by a hands-on activity\, led by educate Allison Toepp. \nWeek 5 is all about wetlands and ponds! Wethersfield is full of water- what can we find living beneath the surface or along the water’s edge? Students will study water lilies and other aquatic plants\, comparing them to plants that grow in much drier soil. We will also search for insects and amphibians to study. Students will end the session by sitting down and making their own mini water terrariums to take home. \n			\n				CLICK TO REGISTER

DESCRIPTION:Celebrating a 20+ year artistic collaboration\, Grammy-nominated Metropolis Ensemble and composer/pianist Timo Andres present an intimate evening of solo piano works inspired by Andres’ recent Carnegie Hall debut of quintessentially varied American music including delicate piano masterpieces by Duke Ellington\, the last of Philip Glass’s 20 piano etudes\, and Frederic Rzewski’s boisterous Winnsboro Cotton Mill Blues. \nAlso featured will be Andres new work Fiddlehead (2024 Carnegie Hall commission)\, highlighting Andres’s “textural imagination and ear for piquant harmony” (The Guardian)\, and a New York premiere by the inventive Gabriella Smith. \n“The question of what constitutes ‘Americanness’ in art has long interested me. It was little more than 100 years ago that composers started writing music that sounded ‘American\,’ transcending the Eurocentric pastiches of earlier efforts. It’s a recent enough occurrence that one can still imagine different paths composers could’ve taken\, could still take. SUMMARY:Wethersfield Hunter Pace
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				All English and Western riders are welcome to join us for a hunt\, hilltop\, or untimed pleasure ride through 8.5 miles of gorgeous trails at Wethersfield Estate. There will be approximately 80 jumps\, including many of our cross-country schooling jumps (all jumps have go-arounds). Pace begins 9:00 AM for all divisions\, last Hunt and Hilltop riders must be out by 12:00 pm. Pleasure riders depart no later than 12:30 PM. This event is rain or shine. Teams will go out on a first-come\, first-served basis\, there are no set start times. Teams can be of mixed disciplines and ages\, but there must be no more than 3 riders per team. A bagged lunch will be provided. Vegan option available. \nAn average of all times will determine the winning time. First through eighth place ribbons will be given in the Hunt and Hilltop divisions. First prize for the both divisions is $200.00. Second prize for the both divisions will be Season Equestrian passes to Wethersfield (Valued at $175.00). Results will be posted on the Wethersfield website and Facebook page. \nThis is the second pace of the Hudson Valley Pace Series\, so come\, join us and accumulate your points. Please email HVPaceSeries@gmail.com if you have questions on the pace series itself. \nOnline registration ONLY. Cut-off date to register is September 25. Please note that that Wethersfield trails will be closed to outside visitors on 9/28. \nFor more information reach out to equestrian@wethersfield.org \n\nAnyone that comes the day of the event that has not pre-registered online and uploaded their Coggins to TicketSpice will be turned away.\nHelmets are mandatory when mounted.\nWater is available nearby the trailer parking.\nABSOLUTELY NO DOGS WILL BE ALLOWED!\n\n			\n				REGISTER HERE
